Intestinal resection
If an affected area of necrosis is found in the patient's gastrointestinal tract, surgical intervention is prescribed. The cause for resection can be:
- Obstruction that cannot be cured medically.
- A neoplasm.
- Large ulcer.
- Injuries to the intestines.
- Disorders of blood circulation.
- Tissue death caused by the ingestion of a foreign body.
How to properly assess the viability of the intestine, remove the affected tissue surgically and suture it? You will learn this at the AC School.
